You mention being angry about Biden's "doomed 2024 campaign." Would you be more specific about what makes you angry? I admire your integrity, and I've never seen you write about being angry before. Though I've not seen you mention Trump by name, I gather you're not a fan of his either. Please elaborate. Thanks.
Thanks for this question and I appreciate it very much. I don't usually get angry, you are right. All presidents are flawed, but I am angry Biden let his ego get in the way of doing what was right in 2024. For running again when he had no business doing so, for dragging his heels stepping down, and then once he did, for hand-cuffing Harris by not letting her repudiate him (at least according to reporting). I read the interview he recently did with USA Today and he said 1) he thought he would have beat Trump 2) he wasn't sure he could serve out the term. I am shocked at that lack of self-awareness and the impossible situation in which he put the Democratic Party. I am certain we will learn more in the coming years, but until I know more and set my temper aside, I'm not able to judge him analytically.
I didn’t think anybody thought he would complete a second term, that his running again was a de facto presidency for VP Harris. Only now do I understand how extraordinary his voter turnout in 2020 was due to the pandemic. But my deepest anger remains for Trump and his enablers, who have flouted every norm and value of the Constitution and American democracy. I hope more people will express their anger about that, instead of resigning themselves to it. Thanks again for responding.
I'm glad you made the point about Biden and D.C. Biden appears like a "swamp creature" because he was elected so young. But the price Amtrak Joe paid for going home to see the kids was that DC power. He got his seniority in a grind, but he wasn't on the great money and power committees. Judiciary was a lesser committee, only good because he had his Bork moment. Ted Kennedy took the good stuff.
As to Biden and Carter, another point I'd make is to include the various bills passed by Carter and the various bills by Biden as experimenters in policy. Biden's IRA will probably be seen in history as one of the largest stimulus passed by a President that wasn't in a depression. And Carter had Humphrey Hawkins, and Motor Carrier and his Energy Bill that will take future historians to see had more value. Already his moved on solar are seen as prophetic.
Thank for reminding me to KEEP READING especially about ‘The Founding Fathers’. What were their thoughts? What compromises did they make to complete the document that veterans and government official swear to uphold and defend from all enemies foreign and domestic.
For a fair number of veterans, it is a lifetime commitment! This we shall defend!
I had a hospital official confront me about revealing information the public need not know. Someone posted a message on a patients doorway that a family member would not be in as he was in a classified meeting at General Dynamics. I altered the message removing the reference to a classified meeting. Further I mentioned it to the charge nurse. I am then called before this official to explain my actions!
Per this official since I was no longer in the military I was free of my oath concerning classified information. Everyone knows classified information resides and is discussed at GD.
I countered that is quite true BUT they are not entitled to know where or when!!! There are spies everywhere. Wherever employees gather for lunch they are to keep their mouths shut because spies are listening. That puts an employee and their families at risk of blackmail if a spy thinks they can gain critical information from them based upon what he/she hears.
This tale does not directly apply to the Constitution but applies to taking oaths and keeping them. Protecting our nation.
Everyone knows, even Obama declared that Biden has been on the wrong side of virtually every foreign policy issue. Overlooking the utter failures does a disservice to the Presidents who were truly effective.

Excellent point. Those committees really did affect money/influence in DC, or not, as the case may be.
Dr. C thank you for another insightful article to consider. Cheers, Bill Emmerich
