There is no doubt 2024 is going to be an intense year and there will be many months I write about history, politics, law, and democracy. But I thought it might be nice to have at least one month with a little bit of levity, especially as yesterday was Valentine’s Day.The relationship between Abigail and John Adams was one of the most delightful aspects of researching my forthcoming book. Their lovely correspondence wasn’t a surprise, of course. Anyone who has read a book on Early American history has probably been introduced to their relationship and the treasure trove that is their letters.
kudos on a wonderful and uplifting story. In this time of unremitting violence, bloodshed, and hatred, it is nice to see such a heartwarming tale of " true love". Indeed, Buttercup and Wesley would be proud!( The Princess Bride )
This is one of the great American love stories. Thank you for shining a light on it.

So glad you liked it! Everyone needs a little sunshine now and again.
Enjoyed your essay on the Adamses immensely!
Small typo? You wrote: "I know that John revealed in the daily . . . " but I think you meant 'revelled'.
